Purpose
Patricia Havener, BS,RN will share her experiences working as a nurse scholar and educator in the areas of missionary, nurse/third world medicine, and the education and training of local nurses and midwives in Honduras and Guatemala
Learning Objectives
• Describe the expanded scope of activities available to practicing nurses in underserved areas.
• Appreciate the limitations of resources in underserved areas
• Identify how to utilize available resources.
• Explain the intervention of “Using cultural eyes in nursing practice.”
