New Year, New Opportunities: Let’s Shine Together in 2025 - 2026

Dear Beta Zeta at Large  Members,

As we enter this beautiful holiday season, I want to wish each of you peace, joy, and moments of rest surrounded by those you love. It’s a time to reflect on all we’ve accomplished together — and to look ahead with gratitude and excitement.

I’ve just returned from Sigma’s Biennial Convention, renewed and inspired by fresh ideas and global connections that will continue to shape our chapter’s growth in the year ahead.

This fall marked a truly historic milestone for Beta Zeta-at-Large. During our Chapter Charter Amendment and Induction Ceremony on October 30, we officially welcomed Bay Path University into Sigma. We have been collaborating with their nursing program for years, and it is an honor to now call them our official Sigma partner.

A heartfelt welcome to all our new inductees from Bay Path University and across our member schools American International College, Elms College, Westfield State University, and University of Massachusetts Amherst! You are now part of a vibrant community dedicated to scholarship, leadership, and service. We are here to connect and support you — please reach out, get involved, and let us know how we can help you grow in your Sigma journey.

As we celebrate this season of giving, I invite each of you to offer a small gift of your time — volunteer for a committee, share your story, mentor a student, or help at an upcoming event. Every act of service strengthens our collective impact.

Let us embrace our new call to action: LEAD TOGETHER — Our Voice, Our Value, Our Impact.
This is our moment to uplift our voices, honor our shared values, and amplify our impact as nurse leaders.

2026 Scholarship Day

2025 Sigma Region 15 Research Symposium

The weekend of October 4th, 2025 brought us the Sigma Region 15 Annual Research Symposium. Members of Beta Zeta at-Large chapter and students of the Western Mass Nursing Schools presented their research at the annual event. This years event, REPRESENT Excellence: Advancing Nursing Through Science, Art, and Innovation. Presenters from Beta Zeta were highlighted for their important research. In addition, Nancy Thompson was awarded the inaugural Nurse Legend Award and Cheryl was awarded the inaugural Chapter Rising Star Award!

Beta Zeta in the UK

Recently, members of Beta Zeta attended the 2024 Sigma European Nursing Conference hosted by Bournemouth University. 288 nurses from 24 countries presented a diverse range of nursing research being completed around the world. Represented at the event was the Westfield State University School of Nursing and the University of Massachusetts Amherst Elaine Marieb College of Nursing. Congratulation to all Beta Zeta members for your continued push towards nursing innovation.
